Meet the Owner Hi, I’m Jessica, the owner and designer behind Among the Thorns Floral & Gift. My journey with flowers began in 2008, and somewhere along the way, what started as a job became something I truly loved. In January 2020, I took a leap of faith and opened my own flower shop, never knowing just how much life was about to change. After losing my husband, Brian, I made the difficult decision to sell my shop. At the time, I thought that chapter of my life had closed. But God has a funny way of bringing us full circle. In March 2026, I opened the doors to Among the Thorns again—older, stronger, a little more seasoned by life, and with an entirely different understanding of what this business means to me. Flowers have a way of showing up for some of life’s biggest moments. I get to create for birthdays and weddings, new babies and anniversaries, “just because” days and some of the hardest goodbyes a family will ever face. I don’t take that privilege lightly. My style has never been cookie cutter. I love the unexpected—the funky, the beautiful, the slightly wild and the pieces that make someone say, “Yep, that has Jess written all over it.” Among the Thorns is more than a flower shop to me. It’s part of my story and my testimony. It’s proof that sometimes the most beautiful things can grow out of seasons we never would have chosen for ourselves.
